Las Vegas marks 15 years of IMEX America and celebrates meetings and conventions
Leaders from the Las Vegas tourism and meetings industry gathered on Tuesday, October 13 at the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign to celebrate 15 years since IMEX America arrived in Las Vegas and recognize the meetings and conventions industry's contribution to Southern Nevada.
The sign was illuminated in pink as Steve Hill, President and CEO, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA); Vanessa Claspill, Chief Sales Officer, LVCVA; Jim Gibson, Clark County commissioner and chair of the LVCVA Board of Directors; and resort sales leaders joined Ray Bloom, our chairman, and Carina Bauer, our CEO, to commemorate the milestone.
The celebration extended across the city with a coordinated sign takeover along the Las Vegas Strip, underscoring the city's longstanding partnership with IMEX America and welcoming the global meetings community.
"IMEX Group has been an extraordinary partner to Las Vegas for 15 years, and we're grateful they continue to choose our city as the place where the international meetings community comes together," said Steve Hill. "Their continued confidence reflects the strength of our resort community and the exceptional experiences Las Vegas delivers. We're proud of this partnership and look forward to building on its success as we help shape the future of the meetings industry."
IMEX America provides a valuable platform to showcase the breadth of Las Vegas' offerings. Beyond the show floor, attendees experience a destination that combines nearly 15 million square feet of meeting and event space with world-class dining, entertainment, sports and cultural attractions.
Over its 15-year history, IMEX America has welcomed nearly 185,000 participants and generated an estimated $360 million in economic impact for Southern Nevada.
The LVCVA is using this year's show as the launch point for The Vegas Effect, a new business-focused brand platform and integrated campaign.
Aimed at meeting planners and business decision-makers, the campaign showcases why teams that meet in Las Vegas align faster, collaborate more effectively and build momentum more quickly.
Through high-impact video, digital and social media advertising, the campaign highlights how the destination's energy, scale, accessibility, infrastructure and hospitality help foster connections that drive business results. The campaign includes 30- and 60-second spots illustrating what happens when people meet in Las Vegas.
Meetings and conventions remain a vital part of Southern Nevada's tourism economy. Las Vegas welcomed 6 million convention attendees in 2025, generating $17.1 billion in overall economic output for the region.
