With more than 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Gail has worked on thousands of events for some of the most renowned institutions, hotels and catering companies in Boston and Chicago. Her passion for food and hospitality took root in her Italian family’s traditions, as well as in her travels throughout Europe, where she immersed herself in the diversity of flavors and gatherings around the table from France and Italy to Germany and Scandinavia. Thus began a life-long appreciation for how food and community are intertwined.
Throughout her career, Gail has developed cherished relationships with scores of clients with whom she has collaborated on various initiatives. She takes pride in helping her clients realize their unique vision and goals, bringing her creativity, empathy, logistics expertise and vast food knowledge to every event she touches. She also understands how client needs can change at the last minute due to various circumstances. Fortunately, her problem-solving skills, flexibility and poise under pressure allow her to adjust on the fly to any change while still ensuring a quality product.
Gail began her career at Le Meridien, Boston, before moving to Chicago, where she was Catering Sales Manager for the Westin Hotel. In 1991, she opened the Stouffer Riviere (now the Renaissance), a 4-star hotel with 32,000 square feet of banquet space in Chicago's business district and served as their Director of Catering. In 1996, she moved back to Boston to become Director of Sales for The Catered Affair, then Director of Catering for the Tremont Hotel, and eventually Director of Catering for the Hotel @ MIT. Following a two year sabbatical to live in Sweden, Gail returned to Boston and joined Gourmet Caterers as a Director in 2005.
