The Lands by Capella

The Lands by Capella is a distinctive new destination for exceptional events, immersive experiences and refined hospitality in the heart of Sydney. Set within the historic Department of Lands building, the precinct brings approximately 10,000 square metres of experiential space to the nexus of Circular Quay, Macquarie and George Streets, one of the city’s most dynamic and culturally rich precincts.

The Lands by Capella features five elegant, light-filled event venues, including the grand Capella Ballroom for up to 250 guests, the Liberty Ballroom and three beautifully restored meeting suites. Designed by acclaimed architecture firm Hassell in collaboration with heritage specialists Purcell, the spaces thoughtfully balance original heritage features, including arched cedar windows, marble corridors and timber finishes, with contemporary design and considered technology.

Complementing the event spaces are curated cultural programming and premium retail, with direct access to the award-winning Capella Sydney next door. Together, the two properties offer a seamless setting for multi-day conferences, gala events, intimate celebrations and bespoke business gatherings, supported by Capella’s intuitive service, world-class culinary direction and unwavering attention to detail.

As the counterpart to Capella Sydney, The Lands by Capella completes the Sandstone Precinct, bringing together two of Sydney’s most significant heritage buildings to create a new destination where history, culture, design and contemporary hospitality converge.
